Hello Father, I'm confused here in Indiana, we have gay marriage disputes going on in our state and billboards you might want to check out at www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.com, basically condemning all churches who don't read and believe the passages they post on their billboards and website. I don't discriminate against gays, but i thought the old testament said a man shall not lye with a man and a woman shall not lye with a woman. Am i wrong in my thinking and scripture? I can be reached at kdfoste13@peoplepc.com Thank you Father for your time.
Anonymous: I was unaware of the current situation in Indiana. Thank you for the information.
In response to your question, I would refer you to paragraph 2457 of the Catechsim of the Catholic Church: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P85.HTM
The short answer to your question is, yes, you are correct in your reading.
There are many today who won't Jesus to be a "nice guy" who doesn't demand any change from someone in order to be his follower. This Jesus accepts you "just the way your are". This is, of course, only a half-truth. Jesus does accept us as we are but he also calls us to discipleship, and this is not always easy.
