I wish I knew German or Italian...

Doesn't he look happy? If you look closely you can see a smile forming on his lips. I think it's a smile of humble pride at seeing this work in print, one that has been on his heart for many years. Pray the Lord to the give the Holy Father strength to complete the second volume of this work.

What I wouldn't give right now to read German or Italian. My English version is to arrive between May 24th and 26th. I really don't want to wait that long...

  1. If you're that impatient, try reading it with the book in one hand and a dictionary in the other. It doesn't get the fine points, but you'll get the basic message. Been there, done that.

  2. That's a thought, but I'm not sure I'll have the time or the patience to try that with 400+ pages.

  3. Will you be tracking this order too? It was fun following your vestment order from city to city.

I hope you enjoy your book when it arrives.

  6. I'm sorry, Ellen; I forgot to respond to your question.

I ordered the book through Amazon.com so I'm not sure I'll be able to track it. If I can, I'll be sure to do so :)

Zadok the Roman over at http://zadokromanus.blogspot.com/ is giving some extracts from the Italian version.
I was lucky enough to buy my German (original) version already last Thursday in a bookstore chain belonging to the German Bishops. I'm about a quarter through, and it is really great, with less scientific detail than the books I've read from him, but with so many different aspects about which and hints to directions in which to think.

  8. I looked at buying the German version online but it would have cost 35 Euros when I can get it for $17 CDN if I'm just patient. So I'll try being patient.
