Only a thought

When attending meetings, please consider the following advice:

If what you intend to say has already been said no fewer than three times at the same meeting, please keep quiet. Nobody really wants to hear you say what has already been said, even it is from you.
Just a thought, and not directed at anybody in particular. It has been bouncing around in my head for a while now and I thought I would release it.

  1. You put into words what I think about at so meny meetings. I think this should be part of the hand outs at any diocesan meeting!

  2. I went through twelve years of five to twenty meetings a week. Couldn't agree more.

When in the military & I had to call administrative meetings, I had a firm 1-hour rule. If it can't be said (and the meeting finished) within 1 hour, it doesn't need to be said at all. And I was known to adjourn meetings at the 60-minute mark while someone was just beginning one of those "... and another thing..." comments.
