I have returned

I have returned from a week that was both a restful and aggravating, but that is a story not suited for this blog.

Suffice it to say that the week with my brother priests was filled with wonderful conversations - and much laughter - and afforded a much needed opportunity for us to get to know our brother priests more personally and deeply. For this I am grateful, as I am for your prayers.

Some time later I will post a piece I wrote while on retreat as well as some excellent quotes from a new book I accidentally discovered.

Blogging will be light again through the weekend as I seek to sort through e-mail and the post and prepare the homily. In the midst of all of this I have to pack again, this time to head north for six weeks on Sunday to the Liturgical Institute. More on that later.

One delightful item to come across my attention since my return is perhaps the best compliment ever paid me. The Roving Medievalist directed me to Utter Mutterings who says of me, "He sounds positively Ratzingerian."

I have been called many things in my day but that one takes the cake! It even beats out Frodo Baggins and GKC, Jr.

  1. I couldn't pronounce that, let alone come up with it.

Glad you are back safe and sound, albeit for a few moments. At least your next trip will allow you to unpack for more than a few days.

  4. I have to admit, I think I invented a word there. As said, however, it certainly fits.
