Four Pentecostalist Christians have been arrested in India’s troubled Karnataka region, after reportedly going door to door to evangelize Hindus in an impoverished neighborhood.
The Christian evangelists were beaten before they were arrested, the AsiaNews service reports. The attack on them is the latest in a long series of violent episodes against Christians in the region.
Hindus have charged that Christians are using undue pressure and blandishments to lure Hindus from the poor sectors of society. Christians respond that they are serving the needy, providing them with material help and with hope [new].
