This afternoon I attended to a few necessary errands I was surprised to see, next to the Halloween and Thanksgiving cards, Christmas cards, an in the individual kind made by Hallmark and other such companies.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at Christmas cards on the shelves three months early. Maybe what surprised is that there were no Christmas trees or other obvious Christmas items for sale.
Naturally, the commercialization of Christmas - and other religious and civic holidays, as well - continues with full force and is a clear reminder to us to stop for a moment and conisder that which is truly important: the Birth, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
