Holy Mother Church celebrates today the life of Saint Augustine of Canterbury, sent by Pope Saint Gregory the Great in 595 to bring the Gospel to the people of Britain.The Apostle to England once said, "No eulogy is due to him who simply does his duty and nothing more," calling to mind one of my favorite passages of the Scriptures.
