“The Catholic Politician, the Catholic Voter” on Tuesday, October 26, 6:30 PM at the Brickhouse Grill in Springfield.
Neither the Republican Party nor the Democratic Party fully align with the teaching of the Catholic Church. With current issues like abortion, affordable health care, financial support for the poor, and traditional marriage, how do we as voters decide whom to elect? And how does our faith influence our politicians and their decisions on policy-making? Is it tough to live a Christian life with all the compromises needed to get things done? This is sure to be an interesting topic leading up to the mid-term elections.
Guest speakers include:
•Fr. Chris House, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
•Karen Hasara, former state senator and Springfield mayor
•Ossie Langfelder, former Springfield Mayor
•Frank Lesko, Springfield Ward 4 Alderman
