Persecution Watch

  • In 2011, 26 priests, religious and lay pastoral workers were murdered;
  • In Uganda, Muslim extremists threw acid in the face of a Protestant bishop, blinding him in one eye and threatening the other;
  • In Nigeria, the death toll from the Christmas Day bombings at churches has risen to 200;
  • Also in Nigeria, a Christian family has been killed in a machete attack;
  • In Iran, government authorities have detained everyone present in an Assemblies of God church;
