Though it's been quite a few years since I've done so, I've always enjoyed carving pumpkins for Halloween (though, rest assured, I don't have many artistic skills to employ when carving). Over the last several days I decided to carve a pumpkin to place in my window that over looks one of our courtyards at the Casa Santa Maria. But the more I thought about this the more I wondered if I can find a pumpkin in Rome (I don't remember seeing one last year, though I don't think I looked for one, either).
Against this backdrop you can imagine my delight when I saw this fantastic idea on the Facebook page of
Hawaiian 105:
I know I can find a pineapple in Rome!
Incidentally, the picture came with this caption:
As
Hallowaiian legend goes, a prince carved pineapple lanterns to trick the
island spirits. This Hallowaiian, share a photo of a pineapple carving
at your Hallowaiian Party and enter for a chance to win a trip to Hawaii
