Good news for Chicago

The Holy Father Benedict XVI has honored twenty priests of the Archdiocese of Chicago, thirteen with the title "Prelates of Honor to His Holiness" and seven priests with the title "Chaplains to His Holiness."

Both sets of honors come with the honorary title "Monsignor."

Some of those honored were professors under whom I studied at Mundelein Seminary: the Reverend Monsignors John V. Dolciamore, Dennis J. Lyle (who is now rector of Mundelein Seminary) and Charles R. Meyer. The Reverend Monsignor John F. Canary was the rector of Mundelein Seminary during my time there; currently he is the Vicar General.

Congratulations!
