A news round up - March 4th

Some news you may have missed:

• The Obama Administration has chosen to deport a German family who sought asylum in the U.S.A. after German declared home schooling to be illegal.

• Yet another delay in the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) is expected later this week in an effort to help Democrats in the midterms. With as many delays as the Administration has already ordered to help the Democrats, one wonders why the Democrats passed the law in the first place.

• New buildings in Washington, D.C. that were "green-approved" are actually using more energy than those not approved. This shouldn't really come as much of a surprise anymore. 

• A New Jersey teen is suing her parents after they told her to move out or break up with her boyfriend and because she claims they won't pay for her college education. I'm still working on paying my college debts; when - and why - did parents start paying the bills for their adult children?

• Tolkien Reading Day is coming up soon. The day is observed by Tolkien fans the world over on March 25th, the day when, in the Second Age of Middle-earth, the one ring was destroyed. March 25th also happens to be the date of the Annunciation of the Archangel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary (but, remember, Tolkien didn't like allegory).

•  Chick-fil-A is introducing a fish sandwich to draw in Catholics this Lent.
