Saint Marianne Cope Day signed into law

On January 23, 2014, state legislators in Hawai'i introduced a simple bill - HB2539 - that would declare January 23rd as Saint Marianne Cope Day, "provided that this day is not and shall not be construed to be a state holiday."

Governor Neil Abercrombie signed the bill into law two days ago:

The legislation takes effect immediately .
