While the rest of the world will have to wait until December 8th to enjoy the spiritual riches opened to the Christian faithful during the Jubilee of Mercy, the people of the Central African Republic can already enjoy these riches.
The Holy Father Pope Francis, at the beginning of the celebration of the Holy Mass of the First Sunday of Advent, opened the Holy Doors of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Bangui a few moments ago:

Our brothers and sisters in the Central African Republic, a land torn by strife and violence, can cross the threshold of the Holy Doors to "find the strength to embrace God's mercy and dedicated [themselves] to being merciful with others as the Father has been with us" (Pope Francis, Misericordiae Vultus, 14).
