UPDATE: The vote on the Pain-Capable
Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36)is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Please contact your representative and ask him or her to vote in favor of this important legislation.
Republicans in the House of Representatives want to mark the second anniversary of the conviction of the infamous abortionist Kermit Gosnell by calling for a vote on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act that would effectively ban abortions after the 20th week.

I fully support such a vote and hope the legislation but passes, but I cannot help but wonder if the republicans are not simply trying to, as it were, save their own skin. If you remember the actions of your politicians, you'll remember that it was not very long ago at all that these same Republicans said they would vote on the same legislation to mark the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade. They proved themselves to cowardly to follow through with a vote and rescinded the legislation the night before the anniversary, after office hours, of course.
Will they prove as cowardly again? Is this just another stunt to make us think they actually care about bringing the murder of unborn children in their mother's womb to an end?
When they said they would vote on this legislation in the first place, 84% of the American people - republicans, democrats, and independents - supported such a ban, yet still they failed to follow through with their word - and the clear will of the majority of the people. I hope they will not do so again.
