Around the blogosphere

Here are a few links around the blogosphere worth looking into:
  • Fr. V. at Adam’s Ale has a post on the usefulness of pillars in churches for seekers. I agree with him. Remember, Jesus praised the tax collector who stayed in the back of the Temple and wouldn’t even lift his eyes.
  • Sr. Mary Martha has a humorous and informative post on Wicca, Free Masons and whether it would have been alright to ask God to kill Hitler. She covers a lot of ground in one post!
  • Dr. Ed Peters at In Light of the Law has a very fine post on questions relating to ministry to the deaf. In our Diocese we have one particular city that has a sizable deaf population and only two priests – to my knowledge – who know American Sign Language, and neither of them are stationed in that particular city.
  • Here’s an interesting tidbit for you: Fr. Selvester at Shouts in the Piazza informs us that Pope Benedict XVI has worn 32 different mitres since his election to the See of Peter. He has other stats, too, if you’re interested, and a link for pictures.
  • Fr. Longenecker at Standing on My Head has an excellent post reflecting on the Church’s use of things beautiful and costly. The com box turns into a thoughtful discussion on clerical and religious garb.
