The Lord of Middle-earth reads his stories

If you've ever wanted to hear the great J.R.R. Tolkien read The Hobbit in the manner of ancient storyteller around a fire, now you can - or at least part of it.

The new blog Eucatastrophe has posted several YouTube clips of things related to Tolkien and his Middle-earth, including this audio recording of Tolkien reading a good part of "Riddles in the Dark:"



It's all very fascinating and seems a perfect way to spend a quiet Saturday morning.  Remember Tolkien's advice to his son: "Keep up your Hobbitry in heart."
