A new church in Ridgeway, and it looks like a church!

On the 28th of February, 2012, a tornado went through the town of Ridgeway, Illinois and destroyed St. Joseph church, leaving in its aftermath an image of hope for the high altar itself was left intact:

Soon construction on a new church dedicated to Saint Kateri Tekakwitha will begin, thanks to the dedicated work of Father Steven L. Beatty, Administrator, and those entrusted to his pastoral care (the parish of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, which he administers, seems to be comprised of what were once four separate parishes, with their churches remaining in use).

Certainly the planning and fundraising for the construction of a new church is a daunting task, and finding good architects for the task, especially in rural Illinois, is now easy task, either.  Even so, constructing a fitting edifice for the worship of the Triune God is possible.

Once complete, the new church will look something like this:

I know Father Beatty is pleased and I'm sure his parishioners are, as well.
