Is canonization anti-environemtn?

Catholic World News passes on this curious story about an Australian who claims the forthcoming canonization of Blessed Mary MacKillop "demeans" that for which the holy woman stood.

The editorial uses, to say the least, questionable logic in combination with a faulty, at best, understanding of canonziation.

It was this odd line, though, that peaked my curiosity:

I dare say Mary MacKillop would be horrified at the immense expenditure and massive carbon footprint associated with trying to attribute miracles to her so she qualifies for sainthood.
I daresay Blessed Mary likely wouldn't know what a carbon footprint is. Of all the foolish arguments against canonization I have heard, this one takes the cake.
