Why I like having parishioners from Sicily

In honor of the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, the Husband of Mary - despite what Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi recently claimed - a few parishioners donated loaves of bread to be blessed and distributed to their fellow parishioners.

They prepared a set of breads for Saint Joseph and placed the other loaves in baskets, which were brought forward during the offertory and blessed. The loaves were distributed after Mass.

The breads at St. Joseph's altar apparently proved too tempting and brought out a little friend, a church mouse, one might say. Thankfully, he stayed in hiding throughout the Mass. I'll see about having him removed tomorrow.
