Come, Holy Spirit!

Today I will be giving a retreat to the 8th graders of Blessed Sacrament school in Springfield at St. Joseph the Worker parish in Chatham.

As you know with this age, they will either be interested or not. Let's hope for the first.

Last night I thought I knew what I wanted to do with them, but this morning I'm not so certain. Lots of new - and good - ideas are circulating in my head; I think I'll go with them.

Your prayers will be much appreciated.

  1. Father, I realize this is a day late, but I want to encourage you in your work with adolescents...not something everyone can do; it's a real challenge (I did teach for a number of years before becoming a monastic...that's another story!)
Anyway, just speaking the Truth, loving them, giving them encouragement and giving them a good example is such a gift.
I envy you, in some ways, because you have the gift to be present to young people in this way...we, for our part, here, pray, pray and pray some more for all of you diocesan priests who are ministering to the young, giving them the Truth of Jesus.
    Bless you.
