Linkage

Adam’s Ale’s Fr. V. has an excellent reflection of what is required of parish priests (the title alone is worth reading).

He also has a few interesting remarks to say about the so-called “Rite of Welcome” found in many parishes. I rather agree with him, though I will admit that there are some places where it truly seems appropriate (like Hawaii, where the people are genuinely friendly and warm and want to welcome you). But even so, the wording is absolutely essential.

With her usual wit and humor, Sr. Mary Martha tackles the “rapture.”

Amy gives us the happy news that Our Sunday Visitor will soon be publishing The Fathers, a collection of the Wednesday Audiences of Pope Benedict XVI on the Patristics. As she did for The Apostles, she’s written a study guide to go along with the book. Keep up the good work, Amy!

While we’re at, Amy also passes along the great news that the Vatican Publishing House has made an illustrated edition of The Apostles, in English, to be released in October.

Fr. Toborowsky at Young Fogeys gives us the link to the Swiss Guard Souvenir Shop. Who knew?!
