Look what I found

Googling a bit this morning turned up this article about the icon of Our Lady of the Life-Giving Spring, commissioned by His Excellency, Bishop Lucas, for the sesquicennential anniversary of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois in 2003.

Prints of the icon - for those who are interested - can be obtained through the Marian Center in Springfield.

If you happen to find yourself in Springfield sometime, do stop in to the Marian Center. It has one of the finest - and largest - selection of Catholic books, statues, videos, music, medals, rosaries, crucifixes, artwork, nativity sets, first Communion gifts, Confirmation gifts, cards, etc., etc., etc. It really is excellent. The web site isn't the handiest thing in the world, but the store and the staff are fantastic.

  1. It's a very beautiful icon, but that blue box that kept floating down the page as I scrolled through the article is the single most annoying thing I've ever seen online.

  2. Right you are, Jeffrey! Sadly, I've discovered those annoying boxes before, only usually when I find they move horizontally across the screen, which is all the more frustrating.
